Technical Manager (Food Safety)Location: Bradford, Morrisons Head OfficeJob type: Full TimeTags: microbiology, food safety, specialist.There couldn't be a more exciting time to join Morrisons than right now and we're recruiting for a Technical Manager (Food Safety) to join our Technical Services team based from our head office in Bradford.Technical Manager (Food Safety) - What's the job?Working with the Food Safety Team your role is to advise and guide the business to ensure that customers are provided with safe & legal products and to ensure that the operations carried out in store and logistics meet all legal requirements. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to meet these objectives and to drive improvements.Technical Manager (Food Safety) - What will I do?? Manage the microbiological surveillance programme and advise on product safety as required? Work with our Customer Care team to resolve food safety complaints? Uphold our food safety standards by promptly and effectively resolving food safety issues and suggesting alternative ways of working? Ensure that stores are designed and equipped to achieve the standards set? Develop, implement and monitor food safety systems and procedures? Assess food safety hazards, advising on levels of risk and required controls? Provide a reactive support service for serious issues and incidents? Manage emergent food safety issues and, where appropriate, liaising with internal and external stakeholders at every levelTechnical Manager (Food Safety) - What skills and qualifications do I need?? Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Environmental Health or a closely related discipline? A good knowledge of the microbiological safety and quality aspects of a range of food products gained in a retail, manufacturing or similar generalist environment? Recognised HACCP qualification to at least intermediate level? An understanding of retail, catering, manufacturing or logistics operations? An understanding of food safety legislation and an appreciation of the enforcing bodies and of food safety/ quality management systems? An awareness of food safety auditing and certification bodies? Lead assessor qualification is desirable but not essential?
