Initially, this opportunity will afford the intern the opportunity to understand the business of wood procurement for a vertically integrated company.In due course, this role, reporting to the Area Manager, will work to build strong business relationships within their operating areas and will help drive process improvements and present innovative solutions to recurring issues. A strong desire to be in the forest industry is essential as this person actively represents Wood & Fiber Supply (W&FS;) and the facility operations on local and regional sourcing initiatives.RESPONSIBILITIES:Implement strategic sourcing and pricing options pertaining to the procurement of wood and fiber for a manufacturing facility.? Evaluate least cost sourcing and pricing opportunities using analytical and innovative problem solving skills. Understand market dynamics to facilitate sourcing decisions.? Forecast volume and costs for suppliers and measure performance.? Ensure all transactions are properly documented and distributed.
