Expect opportunities to learn new skills, colleagues who share your enthusiasm, and recognition that rewards your success.A wonderful opportunity has arisen at the luxury 4* Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel, part of a dynamic, growing chain of hotels owned by independent hotelier company Arora Hotels, for a Maintenance Manager. Reporting directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the Group Chief Engineer, you will be heading up a diverse team of skilled engineers, joining us at a very exciting era in the Hotel's history. This property is currently undergoing a major refurbishment taking it from 649 rooms to just 710 rooms over the next 12 months to improve services offered to our guests, and your key role will be to help manage this massive overhaul project.As a strategic business leader, the primary scope of your role will be to pursue overall responsibility for building and plant maintenance and protection, and grounds landscaping and maintenance. You will be reporting, developing and implementing both departmental and hotel-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customers and employees, ensuring their safety and comfort. Another key element of your role will be to maximise the financial performance of the Engineering department as well as, ensure long-term asset protection and effectively manage capital expenditure to maximize the return on investment to the owner.What is the hotel looking for?The ideal candidate must have:-* Previous experience as a Maintenance Manager or Chief Engineer in a similar size hotel, with extensive knowledge of building trades; electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and general building practices* Detailed knowledge of statutory regulations and safety standards pertaining to the built environment (e.g. OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA, British Standards, HVCA/ BESA, HSE)* Knowledge of life safety systems Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment* Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)* Strong organization and strategic planning skills, with the ability to creatively execute against the strategy and drive results* Strong project management skills* Sound financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning* Ability to network and foster productive working relationships* Effective decision-making skills* Effective influence / negotiation skills* Effective change management skills* Strong customer and associate relation skills* Sound computer literacy skills in M.S Office (ie, Word, Excel)* Flexible to work hoursas per business needsThe role will be working predominantly Monday - Friday, 45 contracted hours per weeK, or as per business needs; however, you may be expected to attend to call outs during the night.
